What can I ask the help widget
Last updated Jul 3, 2026
What changed
Not applicable, this describes the widget's normal, current behavior.
What it can do
- Answer questions grounded in your help center's published articles, with links back to the source article it used.
- Search articles by keyword and by meaning, so you don't need the exact wording used in the docs.
- Say "I don't have an answer for that yet" when nothing in the docs actually covers your question, instead of guessing.
What it can't do
- Answer from general knowledge about the product that isn't written down in a published article. If it's not in the docs, the widget won't invent an answer.
- Take actions on your account (change settings, process a refund, and so on). It only answers questions.
- Answer questions about a different product's help center than the one it's embedded in.
Things to know
- Every answer that cites sources links back to the specific article(s) it used, so you can read the full context.
- The widget's answering feature can be turned off for a given help center by its owner. If that's the case, only article search still works.
- Very high volumes of questions in a short period may be temporarily rate-limited to keep the service responsive for everyone.
